Soon South Extension Market will have its Own Metro Station

Delhi Metro’s Phase III is expected to become functional by 2016. Post this the markets of South Delhi such as South Extension and Sarojini Nagar shall be on the map of Metro. This will help the residents and shoppers of that areas. The four prominent markets like Lajpat Nagar, South Extension, Sarojini Nagar and INA shall have their dedicated Metro Stations that will connect them once Phase III becomes functional.

The current Lajpat Nagar and INA metro stations shall be revamped as interchange stations for further boosting their connectivity of the markets whereas the new stations shall be constructed at South Extension and Sarojini Nagar markets. This South Extension Metro Station shall offer impeccable boost to the markets of South Delhi. Delhi Metro’s plan of building metro stations at Lajpat Nagar, South Extension, INA and Sarojini Nagar with inter station distances shall vary from one kilometer to 1.5 kilometer and shall extend positive impetus to the business based in that area. Anuj Dayal, the spokesperson of DMRC said that this chain of 4 connecting metro stations shall come up on the popular ring road and meet the needs of four significant markets of Southern Delhi.

According to DPR – Detailed Project Report, nearly 2 lakh passengers shall use the South Extension Metro Station mainly to reach the significant markets of Delhi which are acknowledged for raw materials, shoes and sewing clothes. As per the projections, Delhi Metro foresees 1.3 lakh commuters to use metro station of INA, while 15000 at Sarojini Nagar, 8317 at South Extension and 54454 at Lajpat Nagar.

How to Reach South Extension

At present the commuters take AIIMS and Jangpura metro station to reach south extension. From there they can take any local conveyance and reach the shopping destination.

Post the construction of novel line from destination Mukundpur to Yamuna Vihar, the shoppers will now be able to reach these shopping markets directly from different far off areas of North, East and West Delhi. South Extension Nagar markets and Sarojini Nagar shopping destinations at present have no connectivity of Metro. Finally there will be a quick easy solution to “How to Reach South Extension”.
